Professor Ned E. Williams
My great-great grandfather was born a slave but had such a heart for education and learning that he taught himself how to read and started his own school back in the late 1800's. The school continued in operation for over 80 years before it was torn down. He had 10 children of whom 5 became teachers, with one son who replaced him as principal and later became superintendent of the Elderville School District. Other relatives have made their careers in education down through the years and I'm honored to carry on the legacy with Grandpa Ned as my inspiration. https://www.professornedewilliams.com

The original school was built in Lakeport on Hwy 149 on family land but today the new school is built on Hwy 349 near
other family land.
Exciting News for August 2022!
With education being engraved in our family genes, my baby sister Dorcas Dunlap Jackson, has been named new principal of
Ned E. Williams Magnet STEAM Academy.
We are so proud of this new step in education for her and
we are expecting total success in the coming years.
